Coffee Day Enterprises Q1 net loss narrows to Rs 18 cr; revenue doubled

Coffee Day Enterprises Ltd has announced a reduction in its consolidated net loss to Rs 18 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2022.

The company had posted a net loss of Rs 117.28 crore in the April-June period a year ago, Coffee Day Enterprises Ltd (CDEL) said in an ESB filing on Friday evening.

CDEL’s operating revenue more than doubled to Rs 210.49 crore from Rs 81.52 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Total expenditure stood at Rs 237.75 crore, up by 17.96% from Rs 201.54 crore in the first quarter of FY22.

Revenue from coffee and related activities during the April-June FY23 period amounted to Rs 189.63 crore from Rs 67.16 crore earlier. Hospitality services revenue stood at Rs 14.32 crore from Rs 2.40 crore.

CDEL also shared the results of its subsidiary Coffee Day Global Ltd, which operates the famous coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day (CCD).

Coffee Day Global’s consolidated operating revenue more than doubled to Rs 189.63 crore in the first quarter of FY23 from Rs 67.16 crore in the affected prior year June quarter. by the pandemic.

Its net loss was reduced to Rs 11.72 crore from Rs 89.49 crore in Q1 FY22.

Average CCD sales per day increased to Rs 19,537 during the quarter from Rs 8,558 during the last quarter of April to June. The average sales per day stood at Rs 17,140 during the previous quarter from January to March.

Its cafes rose from 550 to 493 in the April-June quarter of last fiscal year, while the number of vending machines rose to 46,603 from 43,782.
