Himachal CM concerned about heavy losses due to torrential rains
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday expressed concern over colossal loss of life and property due to torrential rains in various parts of Himachal Pradesh.
“The chief minister has ordered the district administrations to immediately carry out relief, salvage and rehabilitation works in the affected areas,” an official spokesperson said.
Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and state forces were dispatched to the scene to undertake relief and rescue operations where people were believed to be trapped under the debris, a- he added.
Thakur advised locals as well as tourists to stay away from landslide-prone areas and riverbanks to avoid any accidents.
He also prayed for departed souls and strength for bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss.
