“Pain is bone crushing”

Claire Winter Kislinger shares her pregnancy loss story.
The jewelry designer, who is one of Taylor Swift’s longtime best friends, announced on Instagram on Thursday that she and Alex Piers-Smith suffered a pregnancy loss nearly three weeks ago with their second baby. . The couple are already parents to 3-year-old son Cy.
“We lost our baby 20 days ago. Just a few weeks after taking this photo, the last I have of us together. We had just come out of a stay in intensive care with Cy (another story) and finally the bedroom I felt like it wasn’t spinning, or not spinning as fast,” she wrote alongside a photo of her bare midriff. “Alex had just felt him kick for the first time that week. A week later, we saw his face: nose and lips that looked like Cy’s and feet crossed, hand out of his face for the first time.
“We were thinking of names and couldn’t think of anything we loved more than Jack. A week later he was gone,” she shared. “We were so excited to meet him in a few months. I lay in my bed at night and sometimes can still feel him kicking. My body, confused like me, wondered where our baby was when my milk is happened. When I think about it the pain is a crushing of the bones.”

In addition to feelings of “deep sadness,” Winter Kislinger says she and her husband feel “a lot of gratitude for our Cy and the support we have.”
“It took so long to get to us and I’m left with a lot of questions,” she continues. “The only answer I have so far is that nothing is guaranteed – keep everything you have close, savor every minute.”
“So it’s for Jack. For Cy’s little brother. Because I need him to exist somewhere outside of our memory and right next to his big brother’s records,” she adds. “We may never have held you, but you lived in me and you always will. We love you now and we will love you forever.”
Several of Kislinger’s friends sent messages of support to the creator in the post’s comments.
“I’m so sorry Claire! 🤍 sending you so much love x,” Lauren Conrad wrote, while Jonah Hill dropped a heart emoji.
“Sending love to you all,” Charlie McDowell added.
